4 Food Groups You MUST Include in Your Dogs Diet
You may have heard that feeding processed food to your dog is a big-time “no-no” for those looking to improve their dog’s health.
In fact, you’ve probably even heard that feeding processed foods can undoubtedly take years off your dog’s life…or even worse, cause them to get cancer…
We’ll there is good news, and the good news is that there are 4 food groups for dogs that will rapidly improve their health, and keep them thriving for years…
In fact, these foods which you can easily add to your dog’s diet have been proven to actually double their lifespan in some cases.
The key is knowing which foods to eat, and which to avoid.
Here is a good rule of thumb: Avoid anything that is NOT labeled “Preservative-free” or doesn’t have “Single-ingredient” written on the packet.
Processed dog foods and treats are usually loaded with these additives and fillers made from wheat and corn (Carbohydrates).
Why do dogs need carbohydrates in their diet?
Well, they don’t really.
Manufacturers simply use them to increase profitability, nothing more.
Processed carbohydrate consumption causes inflammation and allergy symptoms in most dogs.
And it's no mystery why 80% of the world’s dog population is overweight.
Harmful additives plus processed carbohydrates are a recipe for disaster and if you’re looking to spend the most years possible with your dog, it’s certainly not the way to go.
Instead, what you want to do is feed a few key foods in your dog’s food bowl each day.
Foods that will fight inflammation, relieve their allergies, keep teeth clean and keep their weight at an acceptable level so they avoid common diseases, like cancer.
Here are 4 of my top doggy health food choices you MUST include in their diet:
1. Red Meat Protein
Red meat animal protein sources such as beef or kangaroo meat are a great staple base meat for your dog. Either is loaded with amino acids, iron, manganese, and vitamin B which all help your dog maintain muscle, produce energy, and build or repair joints and cartilage.
2. Animal Fats
25% of your dog’s diet should come from animal fats, which provide your dog with essential fatty acids and a source of energy. As mentioned above dogs don’t get their energy from carbohydrates, so fat is their main source of energy. Giving your dog a good source of healthy fats will not only add years to their life, but it will also provide them with nutrients for healthy skin, coat, and optimal brain function.
3. Bones
Bones are a great way for your dog to keep teeth clean and also for nutritional benefits. See, dogs are instinctively driven to chew bones because of the high nutrient density of the contents inside bones. In the wild during harsh times, dogs could survive by breaking down bones and eating the marrow. Nature has an amazing way of giving us what we need.

4. Offal
5-10% of your dog’s diet should come from offal, also known as organ meats. This is one area I see pet parents missing out on time after time. Offal is high in many nutrients including a high amount of protein, thiamine, folate, selenium, phosphorus, zinc, CoQ10, and several B vitamins.
